101 List-Building Tips : (Tip #47)

Tip #47 — Offer Free Products and Put an Opt-In Box on Those Pages

Offer high quality information or software products and then remember to put an opt-in box on that page. People need to opt-in then they will get FREE access to your product/s.

Make sure your product is something people would like to get their hands on.

Tip: When you get the email added to your list, try not to SPAM your list. People may immediately opt out when they receive nothing but spam and junk emails from you.

Try the 1 to 3 ratio. 1 sales email to 3 informational email. I do believe this is the ideal ratio.

101 List-Building Tips : (Tip #46)

Tip #46 — Put An Opt-In Box on Your Thank You Pages

When you’re offering information products for sale, chances are there are customers who will likely purchase from you, even if they’re not in your customer list.

You definitely want to keep in touch with these buying customers as well. One good way of doing so is to have an opt-in box on your thank you page.

Why the thank you page? That’s where they land after purchasing your product. And you can offer bonus products so they won’t mind signing up to gain access to said bonuses.

Tip : If you want to keep subscribers on your list, don’t spam them with irrelevant emails. Just send out important emails, esp. when you have new offers or products for sale.

101 list-Building Tips : (Tip #45)

Tip #45 — Put an Opt-in Box on Every Page of Your Site

This is something simple that can be overlooked. If list building is your main objective, which is what should be, then you will need to have an opt-in page on every single page of your website.

This makes it easier for potential customers to sign-up and increases your income potential.

In most cases, if you’re using wordpress for your blog, it would have a fixed column/s where you can add widgets for your opt-in form.

101 List-Building Tips : (Tip #44)

Tip #44 — Consider Using A Pop-Up or Pop-In

What is a pop-up?

I generally see this on some of the sites that I visit. The pop-up appears and it has an opt-in form enticing you to subscribe or get a freebie. It generally darkens the rest of the page until you close it down.

People have differing opinions about pop-ups. Most say that it has significantly increased sign-ups. I personally find it annoying!

However, I would recommend a pop-up or pop-in if there’s no place on your website to put your opt-in form. Typically, you’d want an opt-in in the top left or right of your page. If that isn’t possible, consider having the pop-up or pop-in.

101 List-Building Tips : (Tip #43)

Part VIII : Where to Put Your Opt-In Form

In the past sections, you’ve learned about the technical aspects of setting up an autoresponder and some advanced copywriting techniques. Now it is time to put them into action. How do you do that? You will need a page where you can add your opt-in form so that potential customers can signup for whatever you are offering.

Tip #43 — Make the Signup Form Clearly Visible

You need to make sure that your opt-in form on your website is clearly visible. It is preferable that you place them above the fold.>

What does that mean? Simply put, place it on the area where visitors to your site see it right away upon landing on your page. There are times when website visitors do not bother scrolling down unless they are looking for something in particular.

You want to make sure it is there at the top. Make it stand out so people see it right away.

If your opt-in form is on a squeeze page (for placing at traffic exchanges), the same rule applies. Make sure it is right where the reader’s eyes will fall.

Try adding moving or pointing arrows to your opt-in form. This is also another way of attracting attention. But the most effective form is when you provide high quality content. With this, people will surely find it hard to pass up.
