So I interrupt my regular post here to talk about the adventure day spent with my daughter. Yes, it has something to do with United Nations (U.N.) Day celebration and high heels. So how did that happen? I don’t exactly recall when they celebrated U.N. Day at school. I think this is the first time that they are doing so.

The problem we faced was we didn’t know where to find costumes at such short notice. She found out on Tuesday that she’s supposed to represent Canada. The celebration is to take place this Friday. Thanks to Google and SEO, we found out that someone actually made a blog post on where to buy U.N. Day celebration costumes in Manila. The good thing is it’s located along an old, familiar street in Manila, not too far from where we reside.

A ride and a few steps of walking and our day’s adventure began. Along Carlos Palanca Sr. Street (formerly Echague Street) in Quiapo, Manila is where you will find three stores right next to each other selling U.N. Day costumes. (see map below — shows direction from Sta. Cruz Church in Manila)

From the stores, we walked back to SM Clearance Outlet, the humble beginnings of the SM Malls. My daughter recalls going there as a little girl with my late dad. I haven’t been to SM Carriedo in a while so we decided to take a peek. Lo and behold, we found lots of shoe items for sale! A shopper’s delight indeed.. and so after a few rounds, daughter’s an owner of a new pair of high heeled sandals, and myself a new pair of mules.. LOL 😀 Will share the pics next time around..
