Technical Skill Requirement: None 🙂

Difficulty: Ranges from Easy to Difficult 🙂

I’ve read somewhere that Google considers the quantity and quality of links that point to your site and uses this in ranking it. Having more quality sites linking to yours is considered an indication of the valuable c ontent Of course, these links need to come from sites that are deemed to be of quality or higher search rank.

This is the second time I heard this advice.. Never buy links. A better option is to focus on legitimate link building activities like submitting to reputable directories, commenting on blogs and forums, submitting articles, product reviews and answers to sites like Yahoo! Answers, and working and linking with local government (.gov), educational (.edu), or business organizations.

Another important link building activities is participating in Social Networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Other Social bookmarking sites include:

    * delicious.com
    * diigo.com
    * www.mister-wong.com
    * www.oneview.co.uk
    * webride.org

Writing good quality content on your blog is another good way to get quality links to your site.

Here’s an article worth reading. The strategy is worth the try if you ask me. If you haven’t heard of Jiggling the Web, now is a good time to read. 😀
