As far back as I remember, I’ve always been fascinated with essential oils and aromatherapy. I even bought a chart and a book to guide me in knowing more about the different essential oils. Lavender has always been my favorite scent. According to sources, lavender oil has a calming effect which may aid in relaxation and the reduction of anxiety. It also has a number of therapeutic and medicinal uses. If this topic interests you, you can check out this page on wikipedia about lavender oil. Or feel free to read more about Essential Oils & Aromatherapy. I’ve added a page for more articles on this topic.

What I found truly useful was something a friend gave me as a gift. It was called ‘the slow down kit’. It’s a small booklet that has seven small vials of different oils for each day of the week. There’s an instruction on how to use the kit, which is mainly to allot 30 minutes of each day wherein you are free from distractions. There’s a mind exercise to be used with the chosen oil for the day. I think this started my “20 minutes to myself with my fave coffee” routine. Back in those days I was working mainstream and therefore was subjected to too much stress from work and other sources. I needed to learn techniques to help myself calm down and relax. There were too many negative thoughts and energies bogging me down. I was more feeble and sickly and experienced colds and cough most of the time. I’m truly thankful to have somehow found ways to think more positively and thereby attract more positive energies. Gone are the days of always feeling stressed out and weary. Sure, I still have doubts and uncertainties once in awhile. I truly believe they are part of life and the living. But they no longer take over my whole being.

So if you find yourself always stressed out, try and look at your daily habits and routine. You may need to find time to slow down and relax. It won’t come naturally. Sometimes, you just need to learn how to do it. The good news is it can be learned when you are willing.:D
